DESCRIPTION: This weekend affords students the opportunity to receive personal ministry and intimately experience the love and freedom Jesus paid for us to inherit on the cross.  Students carry hurts and wounds from their past, and struggle with a plethora of temptations and pressures these days, so this weekend is tailored for them to truly encounter the Living God!  NOTE: This retreat is for HIGH SCHOOL students ONLY!  The middle school retreat will be in August.

I had the amazing privilge to witness; to view the power of God!  Thirty-seven high school students attended a retreat this past weekend. These kids are challenged with many situations at home, school, peers, heros, media, etc..  Some or many of these kids face home situations that would blow your mind.  In short they came on friday with bondages and hurts they have endured their whole lives.  Not knowing what to expect as they arrived Friday eve, God began to work as we rolled into our first session of eleven! 

We see most of these kids at youth group every Wed. but most times their lives or situations hurt so much that they put up this tough front, they dont want anyone to know how much they hurt or how much they want someone to just tell them how proud they are of them.  God appointed our staff where he knew there would be openess, brokeness, and trust.  Love would win over the hurt and pain.  As the rivers of tears and the amazing stories of these kids poured out, our Lord offered them refuge, a place of comfort and accountability.  As God revealed His awesome power and love these kids opened their lives so that we may offer them the good news, and reveal to them the awesome passion that Jesus has for them.  We lead them to the cross so that they might know the amazing sacrifice our Lord gave to save there lives and allow them to walk with a holy God.  How awesome it was to see EVERY youth bow and give thanks to Jesus!  Wow!

The love these youth students learned opened a door that they never ever dared to open, it was so amazing to watch as they loved and encouraged one another... they even prayed!  Yes, they prayed!  They became friends, brothers and sisters; family!  Most of all they know you now Jesus... I thank you for this amazing event Jesus!
