Black Friday is an event that people wait for ALL year long. It’s a chance for people to buy all those things they “really need” at a “great deal.” People wait outside in frigid temperatures, all night long, just to be one of the first people to enter the store and get their deal. Some people are lucky and get the very last one, still FOR SALE, while others get trampled and/or lost only to arrive at an empty shelf that is SOLD OUT.

This past weekend’s Middle School Encounter Retreat was nothing short of miraculous. Around 25 middle school students sought and encountered God. The transformation that happened in these students was remarkable as well as inspirational. To all the middle school students who participated, this past weekend, I just want to encourage you in your commitment to the Lord and commend you for your courage to seek, encounter, and continue to seek God. The amazing thing is that anyone can encounter God if they seek him. An encounter with the Lord is not a onetime event, when you truly know the Lord. An encounter is a continual commitment to your relationship with the Lord. Are you in need of an Encounter? Stay tuned for information on upcoming Encounter Retreats.
As we approach the new school year we are also saying farewell for now to a generation of students leaving to college and other endevors. It has certainly been a joy to love and mentor these young adults (wow that's weird). Watching them grow through their triumph and trials has been very rewarding, possibly the one most rewarding experiances that I have ever had.
I'd like to briefly introduce you to one of our graduates Harry Bernard, an 18 year old student here @1211 Youth. Harry will be attending 220i in Baton Rouge, LA as part of Bethany World Prayer Center's youth and young adult interships. For 10 months Harry will giving all that he has to God! When he returns he will be attending North Central University.
This last Wednesday marked that last of an era for Harry as he's off now to take on the world! No more youth group! As his last Wed. he felt a calling to preach to our youth students about what God put on his heart. He preached about stepping out of the ring when fighting temptation, allowing God to fight for him/us. Harry did a wonderful job, God sure used him!
We thank God for bringing us the souls that he has, these kids will forever be on our hearts and we pray that God be with them, and that they will seek Him where ever they are and what ever they are doing! We will miss all of you that are leaving, we love you.

To overcome your fears you have to confront them!
Last Wednesday night Rachel spoke on the fears that teens face today, whether the fear of fitting in, the fear of being alone, or the fear of your own potential. Everyone has fears and fear affects how you live. If you are living in fear you are not trusting in the Lord. To many people teens and adults included go to church on a Wednesday or Sunday, hear a good word, sing a few songs, and then return to the world to live in sin. They try to live by the worlds standards to avoid persecution. Our thought should be “More afraid am I of God’s judgment, than the judgment of people on the earth.” It’s time to face your fears and trust in the Lord perfect will for your life!
Tonight at 1211 Youth...
This evening things were a bit different as Evangel Life Center is in the middle of its VBS (vacation bible school) week. That said we held our service tonight in the main sanctuary.
Worship was amazing tonight, it was another Deluge special! The message was on holiness delivered by James Murray via DVD. This vary message was delivered in Baton Rouge, LA during the youth convention that was held late last month that 1211 Youth attended. The Holy Spirit was moving tonight during an amazing altar call!
What an amazing night hope you all recieved a powerful message from the word of God!
